South Dakota Silver Quarter Coin Ring
The 'South Dakota Silver Quarter' Coin Ring is made from a 90% Silver proof uncirculated South Dakota US quarter. These quarters were minted as part of the 50 States Quarter Program which ran from 1999 to 2008. A quarter with a unique design was produced for each state for about 10 weeks and will never be produced again.
South Dakota became a State in 1889 and we see this date on the outer band of the ring above a ring-necked pheasant (South Dakota's state bird). The coin depicts South Dakota's famous landmark, Mount Rushmore, and the faces of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln remain on the band of the ring after crafting. The year the coin was minted, 2006, is above the motto of the United States, E Pluribus Unum which means "Out of Many, One".
