The Saorstát Éireann (Irish Free State) Shilling Coin Ring
First minted in 1928, The Saorstát Éireann Shilling was one of the
first coins of the Irish Free State. Featuring the figure of a Bull and the
word Scilling on one side, the other
side of the coin is adorned with the Irish Harp, the words
"Saorstát Éireann", and the year. As these were amongst the
first Irish Free State coins produced, they are the first to be inscribed
entirely in the Irish language.
Crafted in 75% Silver, the Coin Ring maintains a brightly polished
appearance, and the dark patina has an embossing effect on the original details
of the coin.
This coin is one of the smaller coins we use and size Q (US 8) is the maximum size it can be made into. The ring has a narrow band of approximately 4.5 mm.
