The Saorstát Éireann Leat Coróin Coin Ring
First minted in 1928, The Saorstát Éireann Leat Coróin (Half Crown) was one of the first coins of the Irish Free State and so, was one of the first coins to be inscribed entirely in the Irish language.
Featuring an Irish sport horse and the words "Leat Coróin" on one side, the other side of the coin is adorned with the Irish Harp and the words "Saorstát Éireann" meaning Irish Free State.
Crafted in 75% Silver, the Saorstát Éireann Leat Coróin Coin Ring maintains a brightly polished appearance, and the dark patina has an embossing effect on the original details of the coin. The head and tail of the Irish Sport Horse can been seen on the inside of the band along with "2s6d" which stands for two shillings and sixpence.
The ring pictured is from 1934 but the year you receive will be random. The default band width for this ring is approx. 9mm but can be made more narrow if you wish (request at checkout).
