Irish Half Crown (Leat Coróin) Coin Ring
Arkle, Rock of Gibraltar, and Nijinsky, Shergar, Hurricane Fly, and Beef or Salmon. We could go on and on listing the great Irish Sport horses. Whether it’s a playful Connemara Pony, a bomb-proof Irish Draught Horse or a flighty thoroughbred, the Horse has a strong cultural heritage in Ireland.
The Éire Leat Coróin Coin features an Irish Hunter Horse looking left, and the Brian Boru Harp, the year and the word Éire on the other side of the coin. When crafted into a Coin Ring, the outside of the band proudly sports the horse’s head, the symbol 2s6d (which back in day would have bought a pound of butter!) and the words Leat Coróin in Celtic script.
Celtic Coin Craft’s Leat Coróin Coin Ring is 75% silver and crafted from coins minted between 1939 and 1943. This is one of our favourite products and would make an ideal gift for the horse or racing enthusiast in your life. The ring pictured is a 1940 but 1939, 1941 & 1942 are also currently available.
