Panama Cuarto Balboa Coin Ring
The Balboa is one of the official currencies of Panama. The Cuarto (quarter) Balboa was minted in 90% silver from 1930 - 1947 and also in 1953, 1961 & 1962. The coin makes a very attractive Coin Ring with lots of fine detailing.
The outside band features the words ‘Republica De Panama’, the year, and a finely detailed Harpy Eagle with open wings. Over the Eagle’s head are 9 silver stars, one for each of the 9 Panamanian provinces. One can still see the tip of the silver tape in the Eagle’s Mouth after the ring is crafted.
Inside the band we see the words ‘Cuarto de Balboa’ and part of the armour of explorer Vasco Núñez de Balboa for whom the currency is named.
