Australian Silver 50 Cent Coin Ring
The Australian 50c piece was introduced at Australia's changeover to decimal currency in 1966. Minted in 80% silver, it was not long before the value of the silver in the coin far outweighed it's 50c face value. It was withdrawn from production and replaced with the non-silver dodecagonal (12 -sided) shape.
The Red Kangaroo and Emu of Australia's coat of arms feature on the outer band of the coin ring along with the number 50. The inner band reads "Australia 1966 Elizabeth II".
The ring picture is a size W (11) but we craft these coins into rings from size Q - Z+1 (8 - 13). The band is approx. 9mm wide.
